Now the company of those who believed were of one heart and soul…— Acts 4:32
The New Testament Book of Acts describes the beginnings of what became the Christian Church and uses a number of idealistic images regarding the early followers of Jesus and how they came together and grew into the Church. Idealistic as such images as the above may be, nevertheless at First-Calvary Baptist Church we try hard to be as one in heart and soul. Idealism has its roots in reality and we seek to be the “real” church as much as possible.
We hope that as you participate in the life of our church either as a long time member or friend, or as simply a visitor, or as someone looking for a new church home, that you would experience our desire to be united in heart and soul in our search for the compelling, compassionate, always challenging, and provocatively powerful love of Christ.
If you come seeking perfection in our church, you will not find it. However, if you come seeking a place where you can ask honest questions, and bring a desire to grow spiritually then you have come to the right place. We will welcome you, pray with you, worship with you, grow with you, learn with you, cry with you, laugh with you, and work alongside you to bring something of Christ’s Kingdom to this earth that God has gifted us with.
If you have any questions about our church, are in need of prayer or spiritual direction, please contact us and we will endeavor to respond as quickly as possible so that together we might indeed be of one heart and soul when it comes to the love of Jesus.
